This is about a lady and her family that got bed bugs in a Florida hotel and brought them home.Stores that I bought products from :dollar tree store,walmart,homedepot.The spray-cans and the foggers,they are like putting a band-aid on a decapitated head.As a matter of interest,two exterminators that I contacted ,one warned me to stay away from the dangerous sprays and foggers readily available at the grocery store.Buy a portable steam machine- walmart,Swifter"wet-mop refills" and liquid refills[orange/antibacterial]Spic n Span spray,[green color/antibacterial],mattress cover with zipper and pillow cases with zipper-walmart.Buy food grade diatomaceous earth.Optional camper bed on a metal fold-out frame-to have different place to sleep easy to defend against bed bugs but large people are to big to sleep in this but this lady has a slim figure.A steamer cost $40 dollars and I can carry it around and steam anything in my path.If you have the funds,the floor models with attachments[$100+]will help tremendously[and faster].A beauty tip because rubbing alcohol dries out your skin so much you want to use conditioner in your hair and be plentiful with lotion on your body,hands and face.Baby oil can be used on your skin but it"s main purpose here is to apply the baby oil around the legs on the floor.This prevents bed bugs from climbing up the bed in the middle of the night. The floors and carpet are a canvas for bed bugs to spread their skills;you must keep floors and carpet very clean.Use Spic n Span and spray the wall surfaces around the bed that you just steamed;and spray the inside of your night stand[and front,back and underneath]and the legs of the bed.Don"t wipe off.Pay attention when removing the vacuum filter,and removing swifter pad.If you aren"t careful,the eggs will fall as you walk.Watch how you remove the bedding,filter,and pads and take directly to the sink and wash or trash can.The clothes dryer is your bed bug killing station.Sometimes you will feel itchy or have bites and you want to just throw your clothes and comforter and the dryer to kill the bed bugs that are nesting in there.After caulking cracks and crevices let the silicone dry.Than use your feather duster as a applicator with the DE and dust the baseboards.Put a surgical mask when using DE. Use a stand-up rotating fan to cool room down when you are wearing all that clothes on to bed.Waste of time and waste of money.Throw away your infested bedding and pillows.Put in contractor garbage bags all clothes from drawers and closet,shoes,caps and papers.Put in another garbage bag rugs ,wall photo"s,art,clocks and luggage.Tie all bags with plastic zip ties.Put all garbage bags outside because remember with time bed bugs will be killed by cold and heat.While you have bed bugs it is not a good idea to use a lot of clothes during the week because the more clothes you use the more clothes you will have to get bed bugs out of and heavy material clothes are hard to launder and kill bed bugs in because bed bugs can escape the heat of a dryer by hiding in the heavy material also you cannot jam your washer and dryer full and expect to kill all the bed bugs in the clothes because it gives them insulation all the clothes. You need to try to get clothes you can put bleach in while using the washer while washing them so you want to wear clothes that you can wash right away to kill the bed bugs before they can spread.Only bring in clothes that will be washed immediately from the closed garbage bags you have.One of the biggest culprits is your shoes.Those eggs that,you have walked across them.They are now on your shoes.You get in your car they are now in your car.You come home and put them in your closet,they are now all over your clothes in your closet.Your shoes need to be sprayed with rubbing alcohol after each wear.Lets organize the tasks that need to be done daily,weekly, and monthly.Daily routine: Vacuum all carpets spray alcohol mix on edges of carpet,covers,nightstands,lamps,headboards,mattress covers,and pillow case,headboards, chairs,and drapes.Swifter all floors.Launder house slippers and ball caps.Wear turtle-neck long sleeve shirt,long pajama bottoms,beanie,long socks,to bed and spray alcohol on neck and ankles.Spray bottom of shoes with alcohol mixture before you enter house and spray car with alcohol mixture.Use only 91% percent rubbing alcohol.Weekly routine: steam drapes, headboard,nightstands and wipe down.Spray all these with spic n span green antibacterial spray do not wipe off let it dry.Use mop to bleach or spic n span all floors.With alcohol mix or spic n span wipe off all articles in bedroom,jewelry boxes,beauty lotion,top and bottom of laptops,fans,etc.General dust and clean each room.Replenish supplies at store.Monthly routine: Caulk cracks and crevices and any cracks on surface,steam clean carpet and floors,if you cannot buy a steam cleaner rent one,if you cannot do this,mop floors more often with hot water and bleach or spic n span.Replenish the DE around baseboards especially around the bed.This is not a monthly task but is the way you put covers on box spring and mattress.Reverse all mattress covers to put on box spring and mattress.Put two covers on both box spring and mattress.The first cover reverse the cover and zip up with zipper reversed the second cover you put on have zipper the right way without reversing the cover.This creative maneuver will pay off greatly.Put pillow cover zippered on pillows.Make sure zippers are closed tightly.All floors must be vacuumed then with your Swifter with the antibacterial liquid in the Swifter Swifter all floors.After a period of time take and inspect all rugs,wall photos,art and clean meticulously and put back in place.Wash all clothes you wear everyday or close to that.I threw away my expensive king sized bed and bought from a sporting goods store a camper"s bed.I slept on a camper"s bed or prison -cell bed it has a thin mattress lies on top of a metal folding frame with thin legs.And it stands high enough to clean effectively under its metal frame.To my ultimate delight,it wasn"t long after my bed"s departure that I claimed victory.Within a short time,I never saw any evidence of bed bugs and I had not been bitten.If you choose to keep your bed,you must be rigorous with steaming the mattress,spraying the rubbing alcohol mix,keeping the double reversed zippered mattress and pillow case covers on ,bleaching all bedding when washing in washing machine.The time frame it takes to completely rid bed bugs is realistically weeks; but it varies,plus or minus,with how viscous the infestation and how serious you are to get rid of them.With the supplies instead of thousands of dollars for a exterminator, our total be-gone battle cost around $300 dollars.Become more alert at hotels and motels you stay bring your own inexpensive pillow.Some exterminators believe that people with bed bugs carry them around to other people"s houses and other places,by way of their ears.They claim that the tiny eggs hide in their ears and scalp.Not good for those who don"t shower daily.Once that visitor is a guest and sleeps on your pillows,bed bug eggs could be left behind.Perhaps,because of so many transient guests/occupants,this is also the way bed bugs travel and transplant in hotels,dorms and apartments.Keep your luggage closed tight in your hotel room;spray your luggage with rubbing alcohol when you depart and return.Then store your luggage in airtight garbage bag or sack.I read online that a husband was so desperate to ease his wife"s tears over bed bugs, that he bought 10 boxes of foggers and set them off over the house ignoring the ventilation alert.They went to sleep hoping for a peaceful night:s rest-but instead,eternal peace came to his wife.Sadly she died from over inhalation of the pesticide.Product details
